A little over a week ago, at the Undeniable Story Night event, Rebelogix introduced our new project. The Lord has been stirring something in us for quite a while and we’ve finally figured it out. In case you weren’t there, let me tell you about it.
Joy, Heather, and I have wanted to serve and minister in some capacity but we weren’t necessarily all thinking along the same lines. Being very different personalities, with various spiritual giftings, we all have different ideas on where to serve.
We brought this up to the Lord in prayer on Heather’s driveway last summer. We prayed loudly and boldly! We asked the Lord to direct our steps and help us get on the same page. I know that, I for one, left content, knowing He would. I also felt good about us all being in agreement, at least, about ministering together.
As time passed, we began to see pieces of the puzzle come together. The pieces were tiny though and the big picture was still unrecognizable to any of us.
Then, this spring, He gave us eyes to see and what a grand plan He has.
Some of the pieces were, the three of us are all mothers and grandmothers. A few times since Rebelogix began we have had to deal with courts and unjust court systems for those in need of advocates. God has shown us the need for foster families and a helping hand for those stuck in poverty. Actually, He has highlighted nearly every social need there is for children.
And He gave us a vision, clear as if it stood before us, of an elephant.
So, you can see why giving us eyes to see became necessary!
The elephant was only confusing until we began to study them. They are a fiercely matriarchal society. There is a phenomenon in the elephant community called allomothering, which basically means that they see all young as their own and love and care for them as such.
There are a lot of children that could benefit from the love of more mothers in their life. Whether their mom is gone, unable to mother them, or just going through a tough season, they need capable Spirit-filled moms to step in, step up and love them like they would their own.
This is the basis of the Allmother Project.
Now, this is one of the things we’re really excited about!
Starting in September, every Friday morning, we will be meeting in Joy’s barn to reclaim and restore furniture that we will then sell to fund aspects of this project. We are asking you, if you are in the area, to join us! We’ll supply the worship music, humor, and friendship. Oh, and the furniture too. It doesn’t matter if you know anything about redoing furniture, it only matters that you’re willing and want fellowship.
We’re working on a new website for the project that will have a calendar with dates and times available. We’ll also be working towards becoming a 501(c)(3) Organization.
We’re hoping that everyone who hears about Allmother Project will join us in whatever way they feel called. We’ll be looking for furniture donations, furniture purchasers, as well as community needs to fund. Most importantly though, we’re looking for those who want to serve and minister to their surrounding community and tell us their stories. We want to pray with you and encourage you in every way possible. If you’d like to become an Allmother leader in your community please get in touch and let us know. Together we can positively impact the future for so many.
